Did you know that you are
always welcome in Welcome? Well, it's a fact. This small community, nestled in
the rolling hills of northern Austin County, boasts one of the oldest, operating
stores in this part of the country. Welcome store, well over a hundred years
old, is run most of the time by Ester Spiess, who is over 90 herself.. If you
are traveling in the Brenham area take 109 south of that sity towards Industry
and you will pass right through Welcome. But be sure you stop in and say hi. If
you travel west from Bellville on 159, turn right, north, at Industry on 109 and
that will get you there too.
